I have a new address

I moved into my new place on Beacon Hill on Monday. The address is:

The apartment is a two bedroom affair, above a carriage house. The owners live in the mansion next door.

There are several nice things about the apartment: (1) I have no neighbors that I share walls, floors, or ceilings with, (2) I have windows on all four sides, (3) The unit is set back 80-100 feet

from the street, so it's very quiet, (4) I have off-street parking, which is almost unheard of in Boston, (5) I'm very close to the Charles River, where I go running, and (6) I can look in John

and Teresa Kerry's back windows.

The neighborhood is really pretty nice: (1) at the foot of the hill, at the corner of Mt. Vernon and Charles Streets there are a drug store, a convenience store, a cafe/bakery, and a liquor store. According to Emma-the-Brave, that's a whole weekend right there. (2) In the first block of Charles Street, there is a dry cleaner, a hardware store, and a bunch of restaurants. (3) Mt. Vernon Street is 2-way in these couple of blocks, which makes getting in and out so much easier.

I haven't decided what name to call my apartment. Barb has suggested "My Friend's Garage," so that I can tell people "I'm living in my friend's garage." We'll see.

All in all, I'm still sort of surprised to be here. But here is where I am, so I might as well make it as pleasant as I can.
