Marilyn's ophthalmologist sent her to a retinal specialist, who has now scheduled surgery for Tuesday morning, May 17. He will extract the gunky ocular fluid and insert a saline solution so he can better view the retina. It is not detached, but there might be a tear which he can fix while he is in there. They still aren't sure what caused this, but after she heals from the surgery she should be OK. The doctor is well regarded and Marilyn feels comfortable dealing with him.
